Sister Miriam inscribed this photograph in 1948 to Sister Marie Dolores Moore, RSM (Class of 1949), who later became Academic Dean at College Misericordia (1979-1981):

Dearest Marie, Be a saint and pray often for your admiring fan

On the verso of the print, Sister Miriam left a note: "As was, unfortunately, not as is!"

Sister Miriam Gallagher, RSM (1887-1966) graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Creighton University, and later a Master's degree from the University of Notre Dame. She joined the College Misericordia faculty in 1928 as the College Librarian, later became the College Publicity Director, and also served a term as the Chair of the English Department. She is known as a prolific writer and editor of national renown, who had correspondence with numerous other authors, both nationally and internationally.
