Sister Miriam was also a prolific writer and editor, and authored two volumes of relgious poetry that were reviewed favorably: Woven of the Sky and Love is Enough: New and Selected Poems. She also edited Cedar Chips by Father Patrick Augustine Sheehan.

Sister Miriam was heavily involved in the student literary journal, Thinker's Digest, and served as the editor of the journal from 1940 to 1957. The mission of the public was to "close the tragic gap between thinking and doing." It featured students' edited translations of contemporary and classical international thinkers.

Starting her career in 1913, Sister Miriam never stopped writing. As a faculty member at Misericordia, she continued mentoring students and editing college publications. She was elected to the Living Gallery of Catholic Authors in 1932. A collection of Sister Miriam's letters are held at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
